Mona loves solving problems that matter. She spent years at IBM building AI systems that actually work in the real world — not just in research papers — and brings that same practical mindset to ShelterIQ. She's also the founder of Fruiteek, a startup where she used AI to help small businesses understand their customers better, which gave her a deep appreciation for what it takes to build something from scratch. When she's not building models, she teaches and mentors aspiring data scientists through IBM and Coursera, because she believes great technology only works when great people understand it. At ShelterIQ, Mona is leading the data science work — building tools that give shelter staff clear, actionable information so they can focus on what they do best: caring for animals.
